Coaching for cognition means working with discreet systems of critical thinking and understanding. As the learner becomes more familiar with clues to comprehension, new concepts more quickly make sense and are extended to greater application.
I have been a life long learner. I have lived and taught in several countries in Europe and also in China, so I have lots of language learning experience. In addition to teaching grad school classes, I have been a WASC accreditation team member, a school principal, director of special education, district superintendent, county office assistant superintendent, junior college teacher of future teachers, and a field supervisor of student teachers. My Doctorate in Educational Administration is from the University of LaVerne, in California.
I have taught grades 2-4, 6-12. In high school I taught algebra, English 9-12, government, psychology, accounting, and more. In graduate school for Brandman University over an 18 year period I taught Research Methods, Social Foundations of Education and Democracy In Education (I authored a book on John Dewey to go with it).
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy travel, gardening, painting, singing in the local chorale, and playing with our grand children.
I offer a complimentary introductory service to go over the application process with a potential client. After this initial consultation, I follow up to recommend an appropriate service for their needs. You may make contact at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am available on an hourly basis to give my clients coaching, or to provide clients with coaching packages as appropriate. email@example.com
We are currently developing a cadre of specially trained tutors who perform supplemental guidance in the Figure It Out Faster system. If you are interested in working as a tutor, and become a coach of cognition, please contact us to see how you can join our group and provide this valuable and needed service. firstname.lastname@example.org
